Hi, I’m Sarah and I’d like to welcome you to my sewing blog – Your Sew In Style!
Why start a sewing blog you may ask, well I have always been creative since being very small and was first taught how to sew and knit by my lovely Mum from a very young age. However, life took over and many years later (I wouldn’t like to say how many!), I started sewing again in my spare time, fitting it around working part-time and my three beautiful children.
I was very rusty and lacking confidence in my sewing ability, so I attending a number of sewing classes locally. As I gained confidence from my first sewing project – the cushion – I started to broaden my sewing horizons and began making a few clothes for myself and family using bought patterns and also dabbling in some designs of my own, after learning the basics of pattern drafting. Time was never on my side and the projects were slow to completion, until one summers day in 2015…………..
I became a full time stay at home Mum and Homemaker! This has changed my sewing world completely as I have the time to sew and create whilst my children are at school and hubbie is occupied at work! As a result my sewing mojo has increased to planning projects on a monthly basis and learning new skills by experimenting with different patterns, fabrics and notions and loving every minute of my ever growing hobby.
So one day I thought to myself, why not share this with the World and see who wants to join me on my journey, getting to know me and my work and for me to get to know how you`sew in style‘!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I know I will enjoy sharing my creative thoughts, processes and hopefully(!) complete projects with you. Please do comment and share your thoughts with me or use the contact tab on the menu above. Also I will be posting on instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Bloglovin’ and I would love you to follow me to create a community of creative people sharing tips, experience or just chat, but for now……………
